Back in 2009 when I first started blogging, I liked to use the color purple to decorate at Christmastime.
I used all shades of it. For this decoration, I glued two un-related thrift store items together, spray painted them and then added lots of glitter to create an ornament bowl for a table top or sideboard.

…like these easy to make sparkly branches that also add a lot of impact to a room without having to spend a lot of money.
Do you enjoy scouring thrift shops for unique and affordable finds? I found these glass tree canisters for $1.00 each. I then added… you know by now…. glitter to them to use to decorate the mantel.
After years of using purple, I began to change things up by using turquoise. This colorful decor was featured in…

I also like to make a new tree skirt or stand cover every year. I made this one using old frames. Attaching them together to form the cover was easy with free DIY hinges.
I made this tree stand cover or tree collar by repurposing a thrift store find basket.

If you like to craft and have a stash of fabric or paper scraps these photo frame ornaments can be made in an afternoon.
