Kate over at Centsational Girl and Susan at Between Naps on the Porch are having a “Mom Cave” link up. A $250.00 shopping spree to HomeGoods goes to the winner. How wonderful would that be to win and then spend?
I know most of you have seen my studioffice, but I recently found some Before pictures so you can see how it transformed.
I know it’s hip to call a space of ones own a “Mom Cave“ but I am claustrophobic and could not even imagine calling my space a cave. I need lots of natural light. I call my “Mom” space – my studioffice- a place where I blog, sew, putter, read, experiment, wrap gifts, and most of all CREATE. Having this space makes me happy and when Mom is happy, everybody is happy. If I had to give the space a catchy name I would call it my Atelier. Sounds elegantly French doesn’t it?
I was lucky that I was able to take over the formal living room to call my own from the day we moved into our house. Initially I used a lot of mismatched furnishings - this was the beginning.
The room evolved one step at a time.
.
When designing all the elements in the room I thought purpose first, then pretty. One step at a time my space transformed into a mom cave, atelier, studioffice - a space I could call my own! It is my F-A-V-O-R-I-T-E room in the house.
If you would like more details on how I transformed the room you can find it on this post.
Since posting this, I have changed a few things in this room. You can read all about it here:

Being a newer follower-I had not seen this transformation before. I am popping over to read about the whole thing after this. Wonderful job. I always think purpose first and then find that I can beautify just about anything if it works. Hugs-Diana ps…great minds think alike. I store my sewing machine just like you do;>)

Oh Yowza! You have a phenomenal space!!! I’m like you in the fact that I need light… lots of light! I moved my office to the other side of the house to get more natural light. I absolutely love your supply armoire – I bet I could find lots of goodies in there. Great transformation overall, and how wonderful you are able to still use the space for entertaining. Bravo!
